Massed thunderclouds over the mountains in summer

Caledon Valley Nursery, an independent owner-managed business, specialises in the production of apple trees for sale to growers in Southern Africa. The business has been in operation for over 27 years, with the first apple rootstock stoolbed planted on Braamhoek Farm in 1992.

The nursery is situated on the Caledon River in the Ficksburg district of the Eastern Free State. This part of the country has excellent climatic conditions for the propagation of nursery trees, namely summer rainfall and early cold winter conditions. The business has ample access to fertile land so trees are always produced in rich virgin soil, also always under net, thus helping to ensure reliable production of good quality trees, both in terms of height and caliper.

Delivery of high quality trees and excellent customer service are Caledon Valley Nursery’s two guiding principles
